Ascend the big staircase (on the east side of the building) between Bar Felix and Café Bebek, leading to the courtyard. To the right is the main entrance of Kalkbreitestrasse 6. In the hall, to the right is the reception, where we are ready to assists you during opening hours. In the courtyard to the left you will find the key box where you can leave your keys. Through the door you are in front of the night entrance of the guesthouse at Kalkbreitestrasse 8 (open until 20:00). You can also take the elevator (floor 2A) to the courtyard to access the night entrance.
Kalkbreite is a car-free settlement, and we are happy if our guests arrive via public transportation. The stop “Kalkbreite/Bhf. Wiedikon” is directly in front of the building and can be reached by trams 2 and 3 or bus 32. Wiedikon train station is a five-minute walk away. Go to Kalkbreitestrasse 6 (entrance in the courtyard) and follow the descriptions under “Where can I find the Guesthouse?”.
Kalkbreite is a car-free settlement, and we ask you to arrive by public transport whenever possible. We are very centrally located. There are a few parking spaces available in a private parking garage nearby, which can be booked in advance by email. The parking costs 20 CHF per night (15:00 on arrival day until 13:00 on departure day). You will receive more information with your booking.
Three days before arrival, you will receive an email from us asking you to pay online and to check and sign the digital registration form (guest details). On the day of arrival, you can request your room number and access code online from 9.00 am and your room will then be ready for you from 4.00 pm.
Reception is open from Monday to Friday from 15:00 – 19:00. The reception is not staffed at weekends. Outside opening hours, you can access your room key via the keybox see instructions here).
Check-in is also possible after 7.00 p.m. via key box (see instructions here). The reception is then no longer available for information or assistance. Access to the rooms with the elevator is available on arrival only until 8.00 p.m.

No extra beds can be placed in our standard single and double rooms. Only in the category “Family room”, two children can sleep on the folding couch.

Yes, the elevator is located in the staircase on Kalkbreitestrasse 8. The elevator takes you (floor 2A) to the courtyard or to the night entrance. Access to the elevator without a key is only possible until 8.00 p.m. Hence, you should arrive before 8.00 p.m. if you need to use the elevator. The elevator can be used with the room key at any time.
The reception is open Monday to Friday from 3.00 to 7.00 p.m. We are also available by phone in the morning from 08.00 – 11.00 a.m. and throughout the day via email at: info@guesthouse-kalkbreite.ch.
Check-out is until 11 a.m. on the day of departure. For late, unannounced check-outs a flat rate of 60 CHF will be charged. Please put the room key in the key return mailbox next to the reception or in the mailbox by the night exit by 11:00 a.m. at the latest.

We offer a sustainable overnight stay. This means rooms will not be cleaned daily on longer stays.
Out of respect for the environment, bed linen is changed every five days and terry linen every three days. Towels can be changed earlier on request – please contact us by e-mail info@guesthouse-kalkbreite.ch.
When you make your reservation, you provide your credit card details as a guarantee. Three days before arrival, you will receive an e-mail asking you to pay your bill online by credit card or Twint before your stay.
The City Tax is a solidarity contribution to regional tourism and ensures a clean, attractive city of Zurich. 3.50 CHF per person, per night is charged in addition to the room rate.
The guesthouse itself does not offer catering. Café BEBEK on the first floor offers a varied menu. Breakfast is available there daily until 4 pm. With our BEBEK voucher you get a 15% discount on your breakfast.
Small dogs are generally allowed, if they are housebroken and do not bark. Loud dogs are not acceptable for our residents and the other guests in the guesthouse. For dogs we charge 10 CHF per night. We are happy to provide a water bowl and a dog blanket. Please note in the remarks of your booking that you are coming with a dog.
Smoking is only allowed outside. We will take the liberty of charging 150 CHF, if this rule is violated.
Unfortunately, there is currently no possibility to deposit luggage directly at Kalkbreite. We can organize the luggage storage for people with special requests. Please contact us!
Each room is equipped with a multiple plug/ USB with Euro adapter.
Each room with private bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer. In the shared bathroom you will also find a hairdryer. We will be happy to give you your own hairdryer at the reception during opening hours or put it in your room if you contact us in advance.
Most of the rooms are barrier-free. We have one completely barrier-free room with a private bathroom and one barrier-free room with a shared bathroom. Access to the elevator without a key is only possible until 20:00. Thus, arrival should be before 20:00 if you are dependent on an elevator. You can use the elevator at any time with the room key.
